Nace un nuevo talento puertorriqueño. Su nombre es Mya Angelique.

Esta joven talentosa con una visión única da sus primeros pasos en la industria musical con el lanzamiento de su primer sencillo titulado “sixteen”. Con una propuesta fresca, auténtica y cargada de emoción, Mya Angelique busca conquistar al público con su voz y estilo personal en el género de la música pop.

Mya Angelique cuenta con más de 14 años de entrenamiento musical. Su trayectoria inicia con apenas 6 años en el Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico, donde formó parte del Coro y del grupo de Teatro Musical así como varios años a la Escuela Puertorriqueña para la Música fundada por las Hermanas Cartagena. Luego se traslada a Nueva York donde inicia su entrenamiento a nivel profesional con profesores de canto y actuación.

Actualmente, cursa su bachillerato en el Departamento de Composición en la prestigiosa institución de Berklee College of Music en Boston.

Para Mya Angelique la música es una forma de comunicarse con el mundo, de contar historias que conecten con personas que puedan identificarse a través de sus emociones y experiencias mediante emotivas letras y ritmos contagiosos. “sixteen” fue escrita por Mya Angelique en su adolescencia y trata de como algunos jóvenes están totalmente dispuestos a hacer lo que sea para encajar en un grupo de amigos, experiencia que es super común entre adolescentes.

“glitter” es el segundo tema musical de Mya Angelique que recien estrenó a finales del mes de marzo. Este tema también forma parte de su EP titulado “paper girls”. Para esta joven cantautora “glitter” es una reflexión sobre la búsqueda del quien soy y como el ser humano es visto por los demás. “Brillar no siempre significa valer oro” como Mya Angelique lo utiliza en una de las frases de dicha canción “cause glitter not the same as gold”.

“paper girls” es un EP escrito es su totalidad por Mya Angelique y cuenta con siete temas musicales, los cuales han sido titulados de la siguiente manera:

This talented young woman with a unique vision takes her first steps in the music industry with the release of her debut single, "Sixteen." With a fresh, authentic, and emotional approach, Mya Angelique seeks to captivate audiences with her voice and personal style in the pop music genre.

Mya Angelique has over 14 years of musical training. Her career began at just six years old at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, where she was part of the institution's Choir and Musical Theater group, such as the Puerto Rican School for Music founded by the Hermanas Cartagena. She then moved to New York where she began her professional training with singing and acting teachers.

She is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in the Composition Department at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston.

For Mya Angelique, music is a way to communicate with the world, to tell stories that connect with people who can identify with her emotions and experiences, through moving lyrics and contagious rhythms. “Sixteen” was written by Mya Angelique in her teens and is about how some young people are willing to do anything to fit in with a group of friends, an extremely common experience among teenagers.

“glitter” is Mya Angelique’s second song, which she released at the end of March. This song is also part of her EP titled “Paper Girls.” For this young singer-songwriter, “glitter” is a reflection on the search for who I am and how others view human beings. “Sparkle isn’t always worth gold,” as Mya Angelique uses in one of the lines in the song, “because glitter isn’t the same as gold.”
